Unity 2

To restore balance to the planet, we must choose to change our behavior. To change our behavior, we must change how we approach the issues that we face. To paraphrase Einstein, one cannot repeat the same actions and expect different results. In order to obtain positive results for the ecological and cultural issues that we have developed, we need to think of Nature in a different context than we have in the past. For the most positive and far reaching results, we must recognize Nature herself as a unified culture, of which we are a part, and collaborate with her. It is of utmost importance that we recognize and acknowledge that we are neither separate from, nor superior to Nature. Rather, we are an integral part of the culture of Nature. We are now responsible for stewardship of our relationship with her, as well as collaboration and unification with her other member cultures as we choose the design of our future.

At the moment, the culture of Nature is in need of more representatives to speak for her, to advocate for her at high levels of society, business and international government. She needs capable leaders for this effort of the re-unification of Man with his own nature, from which he separated centuries ago. Nature has been speaking to us, and yet the vast majority of humans are unable or unwilling to hear. We are distracted by the separation that we have created between ourselves and the cultures of Nature. This abyss deafens and blinds many of us to the world around us and even to ourselves. Ultimately, if allowed continued development without remediation, this separation will be the source of our own demise. Nature’s voice needs to be recognized by Man so that he may be re-unified with her culture.

When balance exists, the cultures of Nature move in harmony, systems evolve and continue to move effortlessly through time. For example, evidence from plant and animal specimens caught in amber indicates that rainforest ecosystems can thrive, largely unchanged, for millions of years.

Imbalance and disharmony, no matter what its origin, result in change, which sometimes can be catastrophic. Man is in an unusual and gifted position in which his conscious choice may foster Unity with the cultures Nature, and thereby positively shift the opportunity of the planet herself. Let us not forego this unique opportunity to be agents of positive change for ourselves, our children, and for all of Nature. From our vantage point at this time, and from our misperception that we are separate form Nature, it may be difficult to imagine change, let alone embrace it. However, no matter how hard or uncomfortable the choices are that move us toward unification, they will be easier, by far, than enduring the consequences of ignoring this opportunity for positive change. Please be clear in your understanding that Nature, inevitably, will return to balance and harmony, either with the benefit of Man’s partnership or without. That Man will participate in this rebalancing by Nature which has already begun to take place is not the issue here. The issue is how Man will choose to participate in this change.

We are a part of the Unified culture of Nature, and not separate from it. Our opportunity is to choose to recognize and acknowledge who we truly are, or to seek solutions to the challenges that confront us by repeating the same actions we have taken before, while still expecting different results. I urge that Unity be our choice. It is extremely important, however, that we not choose Unity for negative reasons. Do not approach Unity from a place of imbalance and expect a positive result. Do not choose balance for fear of the consequences of imbalance. Rather, choose Unity, collaboration and balance for the unimaginable gifts and sustained harmony that it will inevitably bring all members of the culture of Nature on our planet and beyond for generations and generations to come.
