It occurred to me that true Peace is the resultant state of Unity. When Unity is achieved, true balance and Peace result. This is a state of equilibrium: the feminine and the masculine energies hold space equally for each other, and, in their respective authorities, fully support one another.
At this point in our development, there exists an imbalance between the masculine and feminine energies on the planet. The masculine directive has held sway for millennia, and the energetic balance of the planet has been tipped unnaturally in its favor. Masculine characteristics of behavior have been favored in virtually all aspects of human endeavor, as well as in its relation to Earth, to the cultures of Nature, and to Nature herself.
The result of this imbalance has been the separation of most human cultures from Nature, spawned by the false belief that humans are both separate from, and superior to Nature. The masculine energetic of competition against and conquest of the cultures of our fellow humans, as well as the cultures of Nature has come to replace the feminine energetic of cooperation and collaboration. Many humans have taken the view that all of Nature, whether animate or inanimate, lacks consciousness and exists solely for Man’s exploitation and/or pleasure. As a consequence of separation, balance, Peace, and Unity are now conspicuous by their absence.
Separation cannot support Unity. Peace supports Unity. Both are balanced in the feminine and masculine: they nurture all, and provide safety for all, allowing for balanced and healthy growth and development. The masculine energetic has had difficulty achieving and maintaining Peace throughout the millennia because there has been little or no balance with the feminine energy. In order to achieve Peace and Unity today, the feminine must be allowed to balance with the masculine.
To the presently imbalanced masculine energetic, Peace and Unity may be perceived solely as a feminine experience, as opposed to an experience that is well balanced in both the feminine and masculine energetic. Therefore, the masculine energetic may reject Peace and Unity out of hand, as it may seem illogical and overly-emotional, at best, or threatening, and perilous, at worst. Once proper and healthy balance is restored, both the feminine and masculine are empowered and responsible for playing their full and vital roles in creating, nurturing and supporting Peace and Unity on the individual level as well as on local, national and international levels. If Peace and Unity are to be regained and maintained, male and female human expressions must support the developmental and healing opportunity that is presented for all by balanced feminine and masculine energies.
