Ben Bernanke Nigeria Spam

I got a kick out of the latest Nigerian banking spam email. Fed Chair Ben Bernanke dropped me a nice note to let me know that the federal government of Nigeria sent him $10.5 million to pass on to me. He even congratulated me on my inheritance fund! Spam emails like this seem quaint in comparison to the more sophisticated and well-cloaked phishing schemes, where it appears that Paypal or BofA or Chase is sending an important notification requiring its recipients to login and provide sensitive information. As always, watch what you click.

  1. i got an e- mail and it states that Mr. Ben s\S. Bernanke instructed the United World Bank to credit my account with funds of two million.
This is a spam, but to boldly use Mr. Bernanke’s name is wrong and I know alot of people will fall for this scam. It states that he is Mr. Brian T. Moynihan with a phone number of #347 4786852

  2. I got one too but I didn’t open it. I also go the same one from the FBI but didn’t open it. Guess I shouldn’t use wifi to check my e-mail while at a hotel.
